Hi friends! RD here. I’ve often been told I ask good questions. I use questions as a tool to gather insights, check assumptions, and formulate a perspective from which I can make informed decisions. I expect my clients to ask questions when choosing a designer and investing in their space. In “RD’s Perscpective” I share my point of view on the key questions I would ask if I were a client.
Revive Design can be brought into a project at any point. Personally, I love to start at the beginning because it generally allows for the most flexibility in my creative process, but we have joined projects at every phase. When we are brought in “mid-stream” we do our best to understand what has happened before us and how we can get things to the finish line in a way that best serves our clients.
As the principal designer I have my own aesthetic preferences and design perspective, but it’s not about what I love it’s about what YOU love. Some clients know exactly what they like and dislike, and some need my help to identify what speaks to them. I love working with both types of clients, in whatever aesthetic resonates with them, and bring things together to create a new aesthetic that is uniquely theirs.
Yes please! When designing a space I always start by asking my clients what they have that they love. Items that are relevant to the function and aesthetic we are trying to achieve serve as helpful building blocks to my design process. I often use those items as a "jumping off point" for the new design. If clients want to use elements that aren't fitting into the new design I will share that perspective. In that case we sometimes find a different place to use those pieces, or we consign or donate them according to the client's preferences.
Often times clients have done some research and have a sense of what they will need to invest for a given scope of work. If they don't, I ask them to begin by prioritizing the spaces that they want to address first and establishing what they are comfortable investing. From there we can determine a scope of work that makes sense.
Revive Design does not have project minimums per say, however if the budget doesn't match the aspirations I give clients that feedback, along with my recommendations on how to move forward.
